Frequently Asked Questions

What's a Dental Plan?

A Dental Plan is a Membership that builds a direct relationship between you and our dental practice.

Why should I get a Dental Plan at Dr. Z.R. Khan's practice?

The goal is simple, make high-quality preventive care (like check-ups and cleanings) affordable, predictable, and hassle-free for you and your family.

Is a Dental Plan like Dental Insurance?

No. Our plan is a private, in-house membership and discount program, not an insurance or Takaful policy. You pay your fee directly to our practice, which covers your routine care and gives you a guaranteed discount on all restorative treatments, like fillings and root canal treatments, performed here.

There will be NO...

  • long waiting periods for preventive care

  • pre-authorization

  • external claims

  • limits on coverage and annual discounts

  • deductibles

  • complicated paperwork

How soon can I start using my benefits?

Essential and Family Plans

As a member of the Essential or Family Plan you can use the included Check-up and X-ray immediately upon enrollment and payment of your first fee. For a Hygiene appointment or a 10% discount on restorative treatments and routine extractions a continuous 6-month membership period is required for you to be eligible.

Premium plan

With the Premium Plan you can use the included Check-up and X-ray immediately upon enrollment and payment of your first fee. For a Hygiene appointment or a 15% discount on restorative treatments and routine extractions a short, continuous 3-month membership period is required for you to be eligible.

Why is there a 3 to 6 months waiting period for the treatment discount?

The waiting period is in place to ensure the integrity of the plan. It prevents people from signing up just to receive a significant discount on an expensive, pre-planned procedure (like a crown) and then cancelling their membership immediately afterward.

What happens if I don't use all my included appointments?

Our plan is based on a 12-month commitment to preventive health. Unused appointments (check-ups or hygiene sessions) do not roll over to the next year and are not refundable. We encourage you to book your appointments promptly to maximize your benefit.

What forms of payment do you accept for the monthly fee?

We require payment via cash or a bank transfer to ensure continuous coverage. Payments will need to be made every 3 months to maintain the membership.

You will be contacted by Dr. Khan's team with a reminder a week before your payment is due so you don't have to worry about remembering to make your payments on time.

Are laboratory fees (e.g. crowns or dentures) included in the discount?

The 10% or 15% discount applies to the clinical fee charged by the dentist. It typically does not apply to external laboratory fees associated with creating custom restorations (like crowns, veneers, or dentures), but it significantly reduces your overall cost.

Is the discount available for the whole family?

Yes! The Family Plan offers an additional 10% discount on the monthly plan fee for the third and subsequent family members enrolled in the plan. Each family member must be enrolled individually to receive their own benefits and discounts.

What happens when I want to cancel my membership at any time?

The membership is based on a minimum 12-month commitment. If you cancel before the 12-month term is completed, you will be required to pay the difference between the membership fees you have paid and the full retail price of any services (check-ups, hygiene) you have already received. This ensures fairness for services already rendered.

What happens if I miss an appointment or can't make it on time?

We require 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an included appointment. Appointments missed without adequate notice will be counted as used and will not be refunded or rescheduled, as this reserves time that could have been used by another patient.

Can I change my plan tier (Essential to Premium) mid-year?

Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any time to receive more hygiene appointments or a larger treatment discount. Downgrading the plan usually requires the completion of your current 12-month commitment.
